Policies During COVID-19

COVID-19 conditions in our area impact our ability to offer in-person services. Guidelines or orders offered by the CDC, Washington State Department of Health, Washington State, and King County also impact our decision about whether to offer in-person services. We also consider the input of our state and national professional organizations.

Our team is vaccinated. We reserve the right to adjust our policies related to in-person services for various reasons that may occur during COVID-19, including but not limited to shifts in public health conditions and directives, personal risk tolerance, or health-related vulnerabilities in household members. We reserve the right to decide whether we can offer in-person services. There is always the possibility that we will need to adjust plans even after an in-person appointment has been offered.

We feel an immense responsibility to mitigate the risks of in-person services to our team, our team's households and families, and to families visiting our office. We are concerned about the surge in COVID-19 in our area. In addition to COVID-19 symptoms screening, temperature checks, ventilation, and sanitizing procedures, we are now asking that all visitors to our office provide vaccine verification. Therefore, we cannot currently offer in-person services to children under 5-years old or unvaccinated individuals.

Please note that having had COVID-19 is not recognized by King County as an alternative to vaccination. Please also note that the Washington State Department of Health allows for health care operators to set their own vaccine policies for visitors and patients.

In alignment with Washington State Department of Health and CDC guidelines, we ask all individuals to remain masked while visiting our offices.

We recognize that these are sensitive issues. Please let us know right away if our circumstances or policies regarding in-person services pose concerns for you or for your child. We can usually accomplish a lot through remote services, which when appropriate, can provide a reasonable alternative to in-person care. On occasion, if appropriate and weather permitting, we may offer an outdoor session. Or, we may decide that your needs will be better met by a different provider.
